Our federal government is morally bankrupt. The Biden administration leadership has little character. In fact, our country has had a moral character leadership deficit for years. Very few men or women of character occupy the expensive corner offices. Far too many of those in elected office these days are opportunists who do nothing for the common good. By real-world standards, they should have been fired a long time ago. How do our representatives get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxpayer money a year only to chase selfish interests? How do you keep your job consistently ignoring the will of the people? It’s a fair question.
I appreciate the words of Thomas Jefferson, “Yes, we did produce a near perfect republic, but will they keep it? Or will they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom? Material abundance without character is the path of destruction.”
We have certainly enjoyed abundance, but the bold change that has occurred in the last 50-100 years is a slow fade from conservative values and character to selfishness and pride. This lends itself to turning away from God.
We see this vividly in recent events of last week when an arm of the federal government the FBI conducted a raid on the home of a former president.
Our Executive Director Allen West sums up the progression to this moment. “First, we were fed a constant nonstop diet of Russia collusion. Congressman Eric Swalwell went so far as to assert that Donald Trump was a Russian agent, while the Dems ignored Swalwell’s relationship with a Chinese spy named Fang Fang. No, you can’t make this stuff up. Who will ever forget the dubious Adam Schiff and his incessant rantings about how they had Trump? There was the infamous Steele dossier that was produced and paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign, ‘I am Hillary Clinton and I approve this stupidity.’ Don’t forget that the FBI was so on top of their game that they bought into that farce hook, line, and sinker.”
We have Swalwell, Schiff, Clinton, others like them, and the FBI — all lying to the American people. They have proven to be untrustworthy, so they have proven unworthy of our trust.
So, how do we move forward with these people in office? We cannot. If we do not act decisively in this upcoming election, we will inevitably go down the path Jefferson has stated. Again recalling the words of Jefferson, we cannot be a prosperous nation without being a people of character. We cannot be a people of character unless we fear Almighty God and humble ourselves before Him. He alone can heal us and make us men and women of character. We have a Constitutional Republic and must do what we can to save it. Let’s push forward and remember the people we were in the beginning so we can be the Americans we have been called to be.
