The Days After Independence Day

Greetings, everyone. I pray you had a wonderful Independence Day with your family and friends. Yes, I say Independence Day because the 4th of July is just a date on a calendar. I found it interesting when on Independence Day I greeted someone as such, their response was “Happy 4th of July.” If we continue down the path of relegating our day of independence to just a calendar date, a time will come when we fail to realize why we sought our Independence. I mean we already have insidious offerings such as the 1619 Project to attest to the fact. Needless to say, we have younger generations of Americans who are not being taught about the Declaration of Independence, certainly not the Constitution. If we stumble in knowing our foundation, who we are, then we shall walk blindly in knowing where we are, and certainly where we are going. Therein lies the objective of the progressive socialist left and their “fundamental transformation” of America; in essence, the undermining of our fundamental principles, values, and rule of law.

I recorded a video wherein I read the entire Declaration of Independence, and encouraged others to do so. It is vital that we remember, never forgetting, the causes of our separation from England. When we do so on Independence Day, then we can be better focused on the days after, or in between, to ensure we do not allow such grievances and usurpations to occur again. Sadly, we have not done a good job of preventing such.

There is a certain day to remember declaring our independence, but the days after should be dedicated to safeguarding our independence. Every day “We the People” must be aware of that for which so many have fought and died to preserve, or else we falter. Now, I do not mean that we must all bore ourselves with the machinations of politics, but you must be cognizant of your freedoms and liberties and know the indicators and warning threats

In America, the individual is sovereign over the institution of government, because the inalienable rights of the individual are endowed by a sovereign Judeo-Christian faith heritage Creator, God. This is derived from the natural rights theory of John Locke, which Jefferson refers to when he states, “the laws of nature and nature’s God.” Last time I checked, God was with a Big G and the government starts with a little g. When a centralized government power seeks to erode individual liberties and freedoms, well, it becomes necessary to sever those binds and initiate a separation. Just going through Jefferson’s statement of grievances against King George III, one can find a few common to today:

  • “He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good”
  • “…for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners”
  • “He has obstructed the administration of Justice”
  • “He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance” (87,000 new IRS agents, seriously?)
  • “He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended legislation”
  • “For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent” (government agency fines such as ATF and increased inflation are hidden taxation)
  • “For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by jury” (January 6 accused come to mind)
  • “For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments”
  • “He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us” (Anftifa, BLM, Jane’s revenge)

We at the American Constitutional Rights Union recognize that in order to celebrate Independence Day, we must stay focused on the days after Independence Day. The fight for American independence is every day, and is vital if we are to Live Free. This is why we are launching a new initiative called Live Free Local to enable you to secure the blessings of liberty at the local level of governance; too often disregarded.

The 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the establishment of these United States of America. In your heart, would you be willing to make the same pledge? We did at the ACRU and would be humbled if you would join with us in standing for independence every day. We are not looking for summer soldiers and sunshine patriots. No, we are seeking out true Americans like those who made a stand on April 19, 1775…those who made a pledge on July 4, 1776 . . . and those who have been fighting to secure that Independence all the days after.

Steadfast and Loyal.
