Constitutional Rights Organization supports leaders of the City of Keller, Texas as they enter a formal partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement through the 287(g) program.
City of Keller, Texas – American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU) supports the city of Keller Police Chief Brad Fortune and Mayor Armin Mizani as they continue to honor their oath to protect and to serve the citizens of Keller by formally cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through the 287(g) Jail Enforcement Model.
“As a Texan residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, I proudly support the City of Keller, Texas council and police department in their efforts to join the DHS 287(g) program,” stated ACRU Executive Director, Lt. Col. Allen West. “It was over Memorial Day weekend when a young Air Force Academy freshman, 18-year-old Ava Moore, was killed by an illegal immigrant while kayaking on Lake Grapevine. That incident occurred not far away from the city of Keller. We need more of our courageous elected officials and law enforcement agencies to step up, enforce the law and protect citizens from the scourge of criminal illegal immigrants in our communities.”
Lt. Col. West further commented, “In NYC over this weekend, we once again were reminded of the consequences of so-called sanctuary cities for illegals, when an off-duty CBP officer was shot. Cities in Texas, and all across America, must step up and lead in the restoration of the sovereignty of our Republic.”
According to ICE: “The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 added Section 287(g) to the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) — authorizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to delegate to state and local law enforcement officers the authority to perform specified immigration officer functions under the agency’s direction and oversight. The 287(g) Program enhances the safety and security of our nation’s communities by allowing ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) to partner with state and local law enforcement.”
