The words of the Second Amendment are quite simple: “A well-regulated (trained) militia, being necessary for the security of a Free State, therefore the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
The basis for the Second Amendment comes from our Founding Fathers’ understanding that an armed individual can be a citizen, protect their rights, and their state. The unarmed, or disarmed, individual will only be a subject and subservient to the whims and tyranny of the state. This lesson came from April 19, 1775, when the British army was marching inland towards Concord, Massachusetts, to destroy a weapons and armaments factory that was supplying the Sons of Liberty. Liberty was a challenge to the rule of the British crown. That British column was stopped at a place called Lexington by 77 men who were part of the town Militia. It is imperative to note that on that day, there was no US Army (Continental), US Navy, or US Marine Corps. There was just a well-trained militia necessary for the security of their rights and freedoms.
Now, fast forward to today, and in the State that produced the author of the U.S. Constitution and the fifth president, James Madison, a foreigner is seeking to disarm Americans.
“The Virginia General Assembly has sent legislation to Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s desk that would ban the sale of assault firearms and high-capacity magazines, while allowing people who already own them to keep them.
Under the legislation, the state would ban the sale, manufacture, and importing of guns classified as assault weapons and magazines that hold more than 15 rounds after July 1, 2026. But those who own or bought those items before that date will be allowed to keep them.
We are simply saying, if you had it, you can keep it, but going forward, you simply cannot purchase them,” said state Sen. Saddam Salim (D-Fairfax), the bill’s sponsor.
The interesting part of this is that Virginia State Senator Sadaam Azlan Salim was born in Bangladesh. He is the Senate author and major sponsor of a bill that passed, to violate the Second Amendment constitutional rights of citizens in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
First of all, I would like to present a question to State Senator Salim. Could you please define for me what exactly is an “assault weapon?” I am quite sure he would seek to redefine a semi-automatic rifle as such. I would have to correct him by stating that an assault weapon is anything used to assault another individual. And what constitutional right do these Marxist leftists have to determine how many rounds I should be able to possess in a magazine as a legal, law-abiding gun owner?
Here once again. We have a clash between individual constitutional rights enshrined in our rule of law and leftist ideological rights, which are rooted in totalitarian control. Let’s never forget that every dictator and tyrant in history, including recent times, have eliminated private gun ownership as a means to their end. I can tell you right now, the first people who should challenge this are Members of our U.S. Armed Forces who are stationed in Virginia, lots of them. How interesting that our government entrusts them with automatic weapons to defend our Nation, or even National Guardsmen in Virginia, yet Senator Salim from Bangladesh is telling them they cannot own a semi-automatic weapon for personal protection. Again, a constitutional right.
Perhaps State Senator Salim from Bangladesh was still living there when we had the seminal Heller v. DC and McDonald v. Chicago 2nd Amendment Supreme Court cases. In both trials, the Second Amendment was upheld, but that doesn’t stop a foreigner like Salim or delusional Marxists from achieving their goal of disarming Virginians and all Americans. This entire pursuit is based upon insidious folly that leftists believe makes our streets safer. Here we have Virginia, a sanctuary state for criminal illegal immigrants (talk about another violation of the Constitution) and Sen. Salim, from Bangladesh, and Gov. Abigail Spanberger actually think that Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gang members, among other criminal elements, will care about their new law?
Once again, the Marxist leftists are proving that our Constitution is just a piece of paper: antiquated and outdated, when it comes to their ideological agenda. We already know that they disavow the right to free speech. For them, it is all about accepted speech. And we have already had a former leftist Governor of Virginia, and current U.S. Senator, Tim Kaine, assert last fall that our unalienable rights do not come from the Judeo-Christian faith heritage God but rather from the government.
Some 250 years ago, we had a foreign army come to America to disarm the people and solidify their totalitarian control, along with implementing massive taxation. We fought a war against them for our very own independence. Now, we have a foreigner from Bangladesh telling Virginians, American citizens, what type of firearms they can have and the amount of ammunition. And we all know the story about increased taxation in Virginia.
Looks like we will have another Supreme Court case referencing the Second Amendment. This is why the leftists want to stack the SCOTUS so there is no sanctuary for our Constitution. Remember, candidate Spanberger said this was not something she would support. Leftists are liars and deceivers, and anytime their mouth is moving and a sound comes out, it is evidence of such.
I just find it so incredibly ironic that a foreign-born, Bangladeshi, elected state senator is undermining a Constitutional right authored by a true American, a Virginian, James Madison. In the military, this is what we would call FUBAR!
Steadfast and Loyal.
Shall Not Be Infringed
