Whose Children Are They?

Those of you who know me know that I was born and raised in the Peach State of Georgia, Atlanta specifically. That I grew up in the historic Old Fourth Ward neighborhood which produced Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and is the home of the American civil rights movement. But, I just gotta tell ya, what I am about to share makes me cringe, and truly drop my head in disgust and astonishment.

The Georgia state legislature is currently debating school choice legislation. That seems like a no-brainer, but not for a particular Georgia State Representative, namely, Lydia Glaize who represents Georgia District 67, southwest of the metropolitan Atlanta area. Rep. Glaize came into office this past January, and her district has 88 percent high school and 23 percent college graduation rates. Her district is 59.5 percent white, 26.8 percent Black, 9 percent Hispanic, with a median household income of $74,210. Yes, Georgia State Representative Lydia Glaize is Black but her comments in opposition to school choice are just doggone perplexing.

“I see access as a problem,” Glaize said, “I see parents being able to direct their child’s education, and they are already in the lower 25 percentile. Meaning, a lot of those parents did not finish high school, could not finish their own education. I am extremely concerned that we would put money in their hands, that entire piece of life in the hands of parents who are not qualified to make those decisions, and they don’t have the money to put in the difference that their child would need to attend a private school.”

Huh?

It is obvious that Rep. Glaize is not talking about the people, 57, 771, of the district she represents. So who is Rep. Glaize directing her comments toward? The answer is easy when you understand the mentality of the progressive socialist left. It is the philosophy of the “soft bigotry of low expectations.” Now, imagine if a white Republican had said the exact same thing, oh yea, it would be playing nonstop on CNN, MSNBC, PBS, NPR, and every possible leftist media outlet. The women on The View would be in an apoplectic meltdown and calling for the resignation of the person saying such. But that is not the case for Rep. Glaize who courageously stated what leftists say in private: they are not your kids and you are not smart enough to make decisions on their education.

But get the real kicker in this story: Rep. Glaize admitted that she sends her kids to private school. Talk about elitism!

The leftists do not believe that your kids are your kids if you do not embrace their ideological agenda, which includes indoctrinating our children. They are not your kids but theirs. This is not the first time we have heard this same rhetoric. Remember it was during the last Virginia gubernatorial debate when Democrat candidate, Terry McAuliffe, asserted that parents had no right to decide what their children are being taught.

Yes, this is the mindset of the followers of Karl Marx, who, in the Communist Manifesto, laid out one of the communist planks was state control of education . . . In other words, the government.

Unless you have forgotten, it was the so-called first Black president — actually half-Black — Barack Hussein Obama who terminated the DC school voucher program. Yes, the self appointed Black messiah told deserving young Black kids that they did not have the right to a quality education. Oh, by the way, Obama sent his two daughters to the prestigious Sidwell Friends private school while he told black boys and girls to return to the plantation of failing DC public schools.

The progressive socialist leftists, along with their teacher union henchmen and women, are not willing to release our children to us for their education and growth. How interesting it is that these deranged leftists do not support parental choice, educational freedom, yet they believe that a child is capable of choice when it comes to their gender . . . without parental knowledge. Again, it is all about the ideological agenda of the left to not educate our children but indoctrinate them and set them against their very own parents.

We cannot Live Free if we do not have even the basic freedom to raise and educate our children. We will not Live Free if continuing generations of American children are not taught the meaning of individual rights, freedom, and liberty. There is a war on our children. They are our children, not the property and possession of the progressive socialists and the government. Yet, history has shown us what happens when totalitarian leftist, socialist, Marxist, and communist regimes grab hold of our children. Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao gave us lucid examples.

Will you stand with the American Constitutional Rights Union as an American Patriot and send a message to answer the question: whose children are they? They are ours, not the government’s.

Steadfast and Loyal!
