An Open Letter from U.S. Veterans on the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America
A Republic If You Can Keep It
This year, the 250th anniversary of our founding, our nation is on the precipice of losing the fight for our cherished liberty as enumerated in our Constitution, the document to which we swear our military oaths. Our nation is in peril because of the advance of socialism and the failure to secure our elections from fraud and foreign interference. These two issues are significantly linked. Election fraud, including non-citizen voting, allows the illegitimate advance of socialism.
Socialism/Marxism cannot be imposed unless “we the people” sacrifice our Constitutional freedoms, our rule of law, and secure our elections. Reasonable voter verification is opposed and called racist. Without fair and honest elections that accurately record citizens’ legal votes, we have lost our Republic. As U.S. veterans, who took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, we ask this country’s leadership to boldly step up to secure our elections.
- We demand strict voter identification with government-issued photo ID. Not gym membership cards. Not electric bills. Not signed affidavits. Government-issued voter identification with a photo.
- We demand an end to the mass mailing of ballots that have not been formally requested securely, with a copy of a government-issued photo identification.
- We demand an end to an election season that extends many weeks and increases the likelihood of fraud. Election day plus seven days of in-person early voting at secure polling locations is enough for any citizen to vote. We do not have enough election workers to secure elections for weeks and weeks of early voting.
- We demand an end to election ballot drop boxes that increase the likelihood of fraud.
- We demand an end to Ranked Choice Voting that confuses voters and makes timely results nearly impossible.
- We demand a system that does not allow non-citizens to vote in our elections, diluting the vote of our citizens and diluting the votes of the veterans who fought for the freedom that allows our electoral process to function as designed.
Many ask, “How did we get to the point where we cannot trust the elections in the country that is the beacon of freedom in the world? How can this be?”
For one, we have been too complacent. For over 60 years, the ideology of Marxism/Socialism with associated corruption has slowly infiltrated into our major institutions: the educational system, news and social media, our legislative and judicial system, the entertainment industry, corporations and bureaucracies. And with that ideology comes authoritarianism and elitism that seek to silence the voices of regular citizens.
Secondly, we have elected “leaders” who lack the guts to stand up for our Republic. As veterans of this great country, we put our lives on the line for liberty, yet we see politicians who won’t even risk a bad headline from a leftist media outlet.
We took an oath “…to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies: foreign and domestic…” So did many of the politicians who can’t seem to secure our elections from the comfort of their air-conditioned offices. We expect more from them.
We are at a historic crossroads, equal in importance to that of 1776. Do we hold true to our Constitutional Republic or succumb to the failed and deadly Socialist/Marxist ideology? American elections should never resemble Soviet elections under Joseph Stalin, who famously said, “Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the vote decide everything.”
We cannot survive another 25 years—forget another 250 years—if we do not protect our elections.
Respectfully signed,
