ICE said it lodged an immigration detainer against Samuel Antonio Maldonado-Erazo after his arrest in Florida on allegations that he abused and killed his three-year-old nephew. The agency said authorities reported injuries consistent with prolonged abuse and that the child died after being taken to a hospital.
